Our 6 monthly Periodic Fire Door Compliance Check ensures every door continues to perform as it should — closing properly, sealing correctly, and meeting all safety requirements under current legislation.

Who is this for?

• Anyone responsible for maintaining ongoing fire safety compliance or as defined by the Fire Services Act 1981-2003 "The Person Having Control" of the premises 

• Building owners, landlords, and facility managers with existing certified fire doors have been installed 

• Schools, offices, apartment blocks, and healthcare sites with regular foot traffic

What to Expect

1. Functional check – We test each door’s closer, hinges, latch, and seals for correct operation.

2. Visual inspection – We look at the door set (leaf and frame) for wear, damage, or missing components.

3. Compliance review – Compare each door set  current condition against standards and previous reports.

4. Report & advice – Identify any issues and outline the actions needed to maintain compliance.

What you'll receive

1. A concise written report highlighting compliant and non-compliant doors

2. Notes on maintenance, repairs, or replacement required

3. Reference to relevant fire safety legislation and best practice

4. Confirmation that a qualified, competent person has carried out your 6-monthly compliance checks 

Inspection Frequency

• Every 6 months, or more often in high-use areas, to maintain functional safety requirements and meet legal obligations.

(Bi annually in the case of Flat or apartment entrance doors)
